Plaza-worthy wedding
I am swooning over these photos by Christian Oth Studio that were recently posted on Style Me Pretty. That dress is to die for...

Color pop!
How stunning is this painting by Michelle Armas in Joslyn's gorgeous home? Normally this type of art isn't my cup of tea but this particular one is somehow just my style. I have home decor envy!

Will you be my Valentine?
One of my bestest friends, Laura, started her own blog: Her Two Feet! How lovely is her pick for a Valentine's Day outfit? It starts with this gorgeous vintage dress:
I love the bow on the back!
And then add these painted vintage pumps...

New piece on SheKnows! 2010 fashion trends from some of my favorite style bloggers!
One of my favorite things about writing for SheKnows is that it lets me collaborate with people I really admire. I was so thrilled to do this piece that just went up: Fashion bloggers predict 2010 fashion trends. Thank you so much to the ever-stylish Christina, Christine, Jen, Jenni, Julie, Katy and Krystal for taking part! Hop on over to SheKnows to get their scoop on trends for the new year and how to work them into your wardrobe.

Hold me while I fall asleep
Behold, the boyfriend arm pillow! I'm trying to decide if I would have been wildly amused or offended had someone purchased one for me when I was single...
And on the complete other end of the spectrum because they make me smile in that wait-does-anyone-actually-use-those way: Smittens!

Musical house!
I can't stop looking at this Piano House. Built in Au Hui Province, China to showcase development initiatives, this building is entered via an escalator up through the violin. I'm not so sure form follows function, but that said I might take an interest in local city plans if I got to travel through a ginormous glass instrument to get to the display. Whip it good
I used to associate leather skirts with slutty cat Halloween costumes but recently I've been seeing stylish people wearing leather skirts and have been feeling inspired. (See below the lovely Karla, Krystal and Jen). All of them look super classy and fashionable!
In a shockingly spontaneous move yesterday morning as I downed my pre-work coffee, I purchased this vintage leather skirt from hotvintage. I'm not entirely convinced that I can pull off leather but I'm excited to try!
Also in my search I found this quilted leather skirt. I strongly considered upping my leather skirt purchase count to two for the day until I saw that it has a 26 inch waist. Ha! I am pretty sure I would have to rearrange my rib cage to make that fit me so I hope some twiggie out there snaps it up and enjoys it so I can live vicariously...

Basement Jaxx featuring Lightspeed Champion - “My Turn”
My new on-repeat track: Lightspeed Champion’s soothingly sad voice combines with Basement Jaxx’s dance rhythms. Like most great cocktails, the combination is even better than the sum of its already wonderful parts. The audio file was too big to post, but hey, just an excuse to share the retro-tastic video.
I'll never run awayAlready posted on Tuneage. Other recent posts: my best of 2009 and a fabulous Metric remix.

In the market...
So at some point I have to surrender my Christmas tree (sad face) and at that point I've committed to getting us a new chair to put in that corner of our living room. I didn't think this was going to be a particularly pricey proposition but then when I couldn't find anything I liked at Ikea, I realized chairs everywhere else are expensive as shit. I mean, there's only so far I'm willing to dip into my clothing/booze budget for something cushy, especially since we don't really need a chair there to begin with.
Anyways I originally envisioned a big, plush upholstered chair but I came across this folding chair on Anthropologie's site and I'm kind of in love. I think it's super fun without being overwhelming. Still I'm having a bit of a hard time parting with the upholstery dream so if anyone knows any place good to look where I won't have to pay with my first born, please do let me know!

Oh Christmas tree!
Happy new year!
First of all, happy new year everyone! I know I've been completely MIA. When I started this blog I wasn't working except for freelance work so I had a ton of time to devote to it. At the start of the summer I started a wonderful new full-time job. With working full-time, plus writing for SheKnows and blogging for Tuneage, I found myself overextended and posting became a burden. I decided to take a break until I felt really excited about blogging again. Since then, I've decided to cut down on my freelance work, and have found a better balance with everything. Posting will probably not be very frequent but time will tell! I'm sorry to be a fair weather blogger and always appreciate everyone who stops by to my little corner on the web.
Happy new year and I hope everyone is well! And warm! It's terribly chilly here in Manhattan and I'm living in a perma-layer of puff coat.
xx
