A new home

I am loving these cards from Other Such Things, which Modish posted last week as perfect for housewarming notes. And for those keeping score at home, we found the perfect new apartment and signed the lease on Friday! We couldn't be more thrilled. Unfortunately until I'm all moved in in a few weeks posting will probably continue to be sparse, but I promise to be back swinging soon!

I love guest books. I'm a huge keepsake nutjob so they're right up my alley. When I move into an apartment I'm not ashamed to have guests in, I definitely want one. Isn't this one by Red Otter darling? She'll even customize the title page for you!

This notebook from the lovely Bryn Alexandra dates from the 50s and couldn't be more charming. I'm in love with that shade of cobalt blue.

I used to spend my summers on extended backpacking trips and while I would discard every last bit of food and toiletry packaging to save weight, I insisted on lugging my journal around the backcountry with me. My journal at the time was a spiral bound one from CVS with a cover I'd collaged from magazine cutouts (teen angst!). Mother's Day gift guide: Cards

Mother's Day is May 10th this year. I only am aware of this because I heard someone talking about it on the subway. Goodness knows if I were to rely on Facebook events I would have never known because that redesign shoved it in bottom right corner oblivion.

Moving on: to kick off my Mother's Day gift guide... cards!
